The major highlight of episode 6 was the ending of the Sports Festival, with Class 1-D finally making headway in the Sports Festival events. Clearly, this wouldn’t have been possible without Horikita Suzune and Ken Sudo’s impressive character growth. The episode also revealed Kikyo Kushida’s treacherous nature and why she wants Horikita expelled.
On the other hand, episode 7 of Classroom of the Elite marked the triumph of Class 1-D over the Sports Festival. However, it also announced the eve of another test that will ‘test’ the survival skills and academic wits of Class 1-D members. Furthermore, the episode also featured secondary developments such as Kikyo’s backstory and Ayanokoji being the subject of romantic interests. So, what are the key things to note about Classroom of the Elite’s seventh episode?

A New Student Council President & Sato’s Romantic Interest
The first key development in episode 7 was the resignation of the former Student Council President, Horikita Manabu, from his leadership position. This led to the selection of the new Student Council President, Nagumo Miyabi, from Class 2-A. Swearing publicly to turn the academy into a true meritocratic one, Nagumo Miyabi may be another impending obstacle that prevents Class 1-D’s success in the academy. Fans can only wait to see how Miyabi changes the overall dynamic in the academy. At the end of swearing in session, Katsuragi approached Ayanokoji, warning him to be weary of Ryuen, despite his past alliance with Class C’s leader. This shows how much of a threat Ryuen is to Class 1-D’s survival.
Also worthy of note in the episode is Sato’s budding romantic interest in Ayanokoji. This development was triggered by Ayanokoji’s spectacular performance in the Sports Festival’s 4 x 100 relay race. Apparently, Ayanokoji’s performance spurred the attraction of Sato. Although she was shy about revealing her true intentions, camouflaging them under the friendship umbrella, she was able to convey admiration for him and exchange numbers. Surprisingly, Karuizawa observed this development with a jealous look, leading viewers to wonder if she is also interested in Ayanokoji romantically. Either way, how Ayanokoji will handle these romantic developments is still a mystery.
The Paper Shuffle Test
Season 2 of Classroom of the Elite has been filled with a lot of tests that determine every student’s academic standard. First was the Cruise Ship test, followed by the Sports Festival test, and currently, the Paper Shuffle Test. Before Class 1-D’s teacher announced the Paper Shuffle test, she congratulated her students on their efforts in the mid-terms. Interestingly, no one failed in the mid-terms for the first time in the history of Class 1-D, which is indeed worthy of congratulation. However, this pleasant development was soon stumped by the announcement of the Paper Shuffle test and the stakes involved.
The Paper Shuffle Test/Exam will serve as the finals for members of Class 1. Chabashira mentioned a few things for every student to know about the Paper Shuffle Exam.
The Paper Shuffle Exam will be handled in pairs of two. Each pair will be determined by a mini-test to ascertain everyone’s academic ability. The mini-test will not incur any form of penalty for any low scores, even zero. In the Paper Shuffle Exam, any pair’s total score that falls below sixty points will be expelled. The questions of the Paper Shuffle Exam will be prepared by students themselves. Questions produced by a class will be answered by the three other classes. Consequently, if Class D crafts questions, they will be answered by Class A, C, or D. A 50-point transfer reward will be given to the classes that score higher than their opponents in cases of a duplicate request.
After the end of the class, Horikita discussed with Ayanokoji, stating that she has a strategy that would work in Class D’s favor. To discuss this plan with everyone else, Horikita scheduled a meeting with key members of Class 1-D. However, Kushida also showed interest in attending the meeting. Based on the setting at that point, Horikita had no choice but to accept Kushida’s request to join the meeting so her actions doesn’t raise suspicions. Instead of confronting Kushida directly, Horikita opts for a private discussion with Ayanokoji, delaying her presence in the meeting.

In this discussion, Horikita finally revealed her connection to Kushida while stating that things she knows about Kushida stemmed from rumors. The rumors held that Kushida was the brain behind an incident that tore her class apart. In spite of this, Horikita mentioned that she would try and buy Kushida over to their side instead of trying to get her expelled per Ayanokoji’s suggestion. This discussion also confirms Ayanokoji to be Horikita’s savior from Ryuen after the Sports Festival.
Horikita’s Ingenious Plan
Before Horikita’s meeting with her classmates, episode 7 revealed how violent Ryuen could be to get what he wants. Knowing there was a traitor from his Class, Ryuen threatened everyone in order to get the guilty culprit to speak. Soon, the culprit is revealed to be Manabe and her group of friends. After collecting information from the girls, Ryuen managed to pinpoint the brain behind it all: Ayanokoji. Now that Ryuen knows his true enemy, the battle between Class 1-C and D is about to get even more intense.
Horikita’s plan to beat the mini-test was finally revealed at the end of the episode. According to Horikita, the aim of the mini-test was to pair up the highest performing students with the lowest ones. So to clear the test, Class 1-D would have to strategize on the students that would deliberately score high and low. The plan worked out successfully, and high-performing students were paired up with the deliberate poor-performing ones. However, coincidentally, Ayanokoji was paired up with Sato, a development that will make things interesting between Ayanokoji, Sato, and Karuizawa.
As the mini-test has been concluded, the next episode of Classroom of the Elite will most likely feature the Paper Shuffle Exam, and fans can only hope Class 1-D scales through the test successfully.
